Sally E. Dean is an American, London-based performing artist, choreographer, playwright and teacher and the founder/artistic director of her company Sally E. Dean Performing Arts, Inc. and the Kolaborasi project. Sally’s artistic work integrates her training in Physical Theatre, Butoh, Skinner Releasing Technique, Playwriting and Amerta Movement (from Javanese performance artist Suprapto Suryodarmo). Over the past decade, she has performed work in venues across London, The Czech Republic, Germany and Indonesia as well as in the United States. Sally has taught dance and theatre practices at some of UK’s renowned universities including Laban, Central School of Speech and Drama, Chichester University, Coventry University, London Southbank University, Byam Shaw School of Art as well as the National Arts University, Surakarta/Java.
